Ingredients

Main:

  • 2 1/2 cups: Panko
  • 3: Onion, grated
  • 5 pounds: Ground beef
  • 5: Eggs
  • 6 cloves: Garlic, minced
  • 3 teaspoons: Worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup: Ketchup
  • 3/4 cup: Parsley
  • 3 teaspoons: Thyme, dried
  • 6 cubes: Beef bouillon, crumbed
  • 3 teaspoons: Pepper
    Glaze:
  • 1 1/2 cups: Ketchup
  • 6 tablespoons: Apple cider vinegar
  • 3 tablespoons: Brown sugar

Ingredient Considerations:

  • Bread crumbs may be used instead of panko.
  • If the onions are sufficiently large enough, two may suffice.
  • The current ingredients are for a 9 x 13 inch rectangular cake pan. Scale the ingredients appropriately for your pan size.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F. Coat the baking pan being used with oil.
  2. Make meatloaf glaze:
    1. Mix all the glaze ingredients together in a small bowl.
    2. Set the glaze on the side for now.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mix the panko and grated onions.
  4. Add the ground beef, eggs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, parsley, thyme, beef bouillon, and pepper (the rest of the meatloaf section ingredients) into the mixing bowl.
  5. Mix all ingredients well.
  6. Spread the meatloaf mixture evenly into the oiled baking pan. The mixture should cover the entire pan.
  7. Using half of the glaze, brush the top of the meatloaf, coating it with the glaze.
  8. Bake the meatloaf in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 F. Remove the meatloaf from the oven.
  9. Scoop or pour out any fat or oil pooling in the meatloaf pan; keep the meatloaf in the pan.
  10. Brush and coat the meatloaf with the rest of the half of the glaze.
  11. Reinsert the meatloaf in the oven. Bake it for 30 minutes at 350 F. Remove the meatloaf from the oven afterwards.
  12. Let the meatloaf stand for 10 minutes before serving.
