Ingredients
Main:
- 2 1/2 cups: Panko
- 3: Onion, grated
- 5 pounds: Ground beef
- 5: Eggs
- 6 cloves: Garlic, minced
- 3 teaspoons: Worcestershire sauce
- 3/4 cup: Ketchup
- 3/4 cup: Parsley
- 3 teaspoons: Thyme, dried
- 6 cubes: Beef bouillon, crumbed
- 3 teaspoons: Pepper
Glaze: - 1 1/2 cups: Ketchup
- 6 tablespoons: Apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons: Brown sugar
Ingredient Considerations:
- Bread crumbs may be used instead of panko.
- If the onions are sufficiently large enough, two may suffice.
- The current ingredients are for a 9 x 13 inch rectangular cake pan. Scale the ingredients appropriately for your pan size.
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 F. Coat the baking pan being used with oil.
- Make meatloaf glaze:
- Mix all the glaze ingredients together in a small bowl.
- Set the glaze on the side for now.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix the panko and grated onions.
- Add the ground beef, eggs, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, parsley, thyme, beef bouillon, and pepper (the rest of the meatloaf section ingredients) into the mixing bowl.
- Mix all ingredients well.
- Spread the meatloaf mixture evenly into the oiled baking pan. The mixture should cover the entire pan.
- Using half of the glaze, brush the top of the meatloaf, coating it with the glaze.
- Bake the meatloaf in the oven for 45 minutes at 350 F. Remove the meatloaf from the oven.
- Scoop or pour out any fat or oil pooling in the meatloaf pan; keep the meatloaf in the pan.
- Brush and coat the meatloaf with the rest of the half of the glaze.
- Reinsert the meatloaf in the oven. Bake it for 30 minutes at 350 F. Remove the meatloaf from the oven afterwards.
- Let the meatloaf stand for 10 minutes before serving.
