Welcome aboard the Sparrow STAR Liner! A blog where we take a trackless voyage across Space, Technology, Aviation, and other Randomness. Stops are scattered, and we do not have many stations, but we hope you enjoy where you disembark.

Welcome Briefing

Hello, welcome aboard the Sparrow STAR Liner, a personal blog dedicated to any number of interesting things in the realms of space, astronomy, aviation, technology, and other random or miscellaneous subjects. The subjects and depths of this blog range anywhere to personal opinions, a collection of basic research and a collation of findings, to old academic work or technical notes, and everything else in-between and out. We hope that you will find at least one stop interesting.

Most other blogs might have very strong themes, but as you ride the STAR Liner, you will likely notice that the stations (articles) are scattered in the vast galaxy of knowledge. If something is interesting enough for us to construct a station, we probably will. But, this also means that some of these interesting things are very much not in the acronym themes of Space, Technology, or Aviation, so, you will find a lot of “other Randomness”. Personally, it is more fun that way though.

We do not have any disillusions to try and (re)order this blog, as knowledge is interconnected and compartmentalizing it in folders, though possibly helpful, proves hard for blogs bordering between different subjects. Instead, we leverage links and Obsidian.md. You are likely reading these blogs from the static site version that we have generated using Quartz on NOCTOWL. As such, you can search for different key terms, or use the tags to navigate. The original notes are written in Markdown, and the conversion is done automatically so there may be the rare issue.

You will likely notice that the writing style of this blog is often conversational and probably a bit “dorky”. It makes these posts a lot more easier to write. I know this style is not for everyone, and maybe it is cringe too, but, that is the beauty of blogs of Web 1.0. This blog is idiosyncratic; it has nerd references, uses odd language to have a theme (even if there probably should not be one), and just overall reflects the writer (who may not always be Sparrow).

These blog articles sometimes also double as tutorials or notes for some things (especially the “Technology” parts) and so it may be important to check the date. Moreover, all blog articles may be updated with time, mostly to fix small text issues, adding more information, or replacing outdated content with newer versions. For the sake of data archiving, updates to blog articles which are substantial in nature are uncommon, and often an updated blog post would be posted. All of the history of the blogs are also stored on a public Github.

We welcome any and all feedback to encourage the development of new knowledge stations here on the Sparrow STAR Liner! You can contact us any time: Sparrow.

Enjoy your adventure!
